The Martinez MC88SCE is the modern cutaway verison of the MC88S with a narrower neck for improved playability. The installed Fishman Presys Blend is a dual source system, undersaddle pickup plus microphone, which sounds very natural. The added microphone really lets this system breathe and amplifies all the small details. The machine heads are more precise and look more luxurious. The MC88SCE has beautiful real wooden bindings and luxurious tie block. Most important however is that the sound is more refined with better projection. The rosewood back and sides give the instrument definition and depth, the solid European spruce top adds a clear tone with a lot of body. The spruce top is more dynamic than cedar and will develop to an even better sound than it has when brand new.

Rosewood is a beautiful rich tonewood with deep colours which is beloved by luthiers all over the world to build high quality guitars from. Rosewood has a warm and very resonant tone, with plenty of volume. It's one of the hardest tonewoods being used for the body of a guitar but because of its porous nature it has a generaly warmer tone then some of the softer tonewoods being used.
