The Martinez MFG-AS is a guitar inspired by the flamenco artform. The light and direct sound of the typical flamenco guitar is combined with the features of a classical guitar. The light sound and clarity of the MFG-AS are clearly flamenco influenced, the shape of the body and the playability are more classically oriented. The result is a very interesting combination that has a lot of followers.
SOLID SPRUCE TOP
Spruce provides an ideal balance between strength and flexibility, hence its overwhelming popularity as the wood of choice for tops of acoustic guitars. Spruce’s versatile sonic character makes it ideal for a variety of musical genres and playing styles.
AGATHIS BACK & SIDES
Agathis is a tonewood that has quite some similarities with Mahogany, it's one of the softer lighter tonewoods that has a full deep sound. Compated to Mahogany, Agathis has a slightly more dull sound however because the highs aren't as clear and pronounced. The softness of Agathis also gives a bit less sustain then most guitars made from Mahogany.
