The ukuleles from Barnes & Mullins are made with the most beautifull exotic tonewoods. These wood types are specially selected for their tone characteristics, this makes them not only look but also sound great. These ukuleles have a powerfull and clear sound with great sustain thanks to the hardness of the used tonewoods.
SPALTED MAPLE
Maple is the only tonewood used for backs and sides of violins, so it is well known to instrument makers. It's well known for imparting a bright tone to an instrument, good balance and projection, excellent note separation and tight bass. An instrument made with Maple allows each note to ring independently as opposed to sounding thick and clustered. It requires less care for fluctuation in temperature and humidity than many other wood types, making it easy to care for.
OPEN PORE FINISH
Not only does the open pore finish enhance the resonance of the woods but it also reduces the weight of the guitar for improved playability. This model’s natural and brown finishes feature gloss top for high-end vintage look and feel.
